Approaches to Planning

Workshop purpose: To examine the past planning style of the organization and then to determine the organizational cultural bias toward continuing using the same approach. It is best used by planning teams that have not been proactive in their past planning.

Materials needed: a copy of 4 Approaches to Planning and a copy of this page for each member of the planning team.

Facility requirements: seminar seating for the planning team with a flip chart or white board.

Process:

  1. Provide each member of the planning team with a copy of the above materials.
  2. Independently, each member of the planning team is to complete the planning questionnaire.
  3. Have the planning facilitator record the answers & lead a discussion.
